Awkward Introductions

Hello, I'm Hazel and this is my blog.

When I started, I didn't think I would keep it up. I thought like most of my previous ones, I'd fail. But instead, I find that motherhood and blogging goes hand in hand. This blog is currently under construction - and it has been for awhile now. I have a lot of blank space to fill. So, I thought I'd add an entire page about myself. But you see, my social skills aren't very good, thus, the awkward introduction.

While currently a little lost in Canada, I am thriving on random glimpses of the sun. Because I was made for tropical conditions, the move has me starting over. How do I answer where I'm from? I am from the Philippines but I was born and raised in Hong Kong. Yes, I can understand Cantonese. But sadly, my tongue refuses to speak the language. And as a Filipino, I can understand and speak Tagalog as well (which I also teach my sons).

Before I married my high school crush, I was working as a play gym teacher in My Kiddy Gym (which explains my fondness for teaching). Now, I'm a stay-at-home mom to two silly little boys - Zaki (two years old) & Hiro (10 months old). If you were our neighbours, you'd probably see us dancing ourselves silly on a Sunday morning. We like playing pretend in our fort and sticking stickers all over ourselves.

As I was revamping this blog, I started to label most of my posts (which I didn't before and I don't know why). I realized I mostly write rant about the mundane mess of motherhood. I write about this vicious cycle of dirty diapers. I write about the shenanigans of being a housewife. I write about the sunny side of life at home. I write because I want to be able to look back and remember how I thought, felt and lived the life I was given. I write because someday, hopefully, someone will read my story and be inspired in ways I can't imagine.

If you like what you see around here, please don't hesitate to give me a shoutout. I could use some love. And by the way, thanks for secretly cheering me on!
